Danish meat processor Danish Crown has said it registered turnover of DKr3.0bn (US$473.5m) in Germany in the fiscal year to 30 September, a rise of 7% year-on-year.

In volume terms, the company’s sales on the German market rose 21% compared to the previous year.

The company attributed the rise in German sales to the fact that it reduced exports to Japan in order to focus on the German market.

Danish Crown posted turnover in Japan of DKr5.0bn for the fiscal year, compared to DKr6.0bn in the prior year.

The company said it had decided to make the German market a high priority and may seek acquisition targets there, reported the Danish News Digest.
