Orkla Food Ingredients, part of Norwegian consumer goods giant Orkla, has entered into an agreement to buy all the shares in Denmark’s Bæchs Conditori.

The company is a leading player on the Danish market for frozen fine confectionery products. Orkla said Bæchs Conditori’s product range consists of dry cakes, cream cakes, cake portions and tarts. Its operating revenues in 2004 totalled approximately DKK60m (US$10.8m).
Orkla said the deal would give Orkla Food Ingredients a broader product range in the frozen ready-baked and bake-off products sector.
