Nestle has confirmed that it has restarted operations in Egypt after nearly two weeks of political unrest in the country.
A spokesperson for the manufacturer told just-food today (8 February) that operations in its Cairo headquarters and three factories have gradually resumed since Sunday.

The spokesperson added that Nestle hopes for an “ongoing stabilisation of the situation, which it continues to monitor very closely”.
Additionally the spokesperson said that the manufacturer “remains committed” to Egypt, with plans to invest CHF160m (US$167.3m) over the next three years.
