The Commission said the total budget of the programmes is €38.4m (US$44.3m), of which the EU will contribute €19.2m.

Under a Council Regulation on information and promotion actions for agricultural products on the EU internal market, ten Member States submitted 30 programme proposals. The Commission selected 20 programmes in nine Member States (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom) as eligible to receive financing.

The programmes cover fruit and vegetables, organic products, flowers, wine, cheese, milk and protected denominations of origin or geographical indications (PDI/PGI).
