The European Commission has said it has cleared the proposed acquisition by Lactalis Iberia, a unit of French dairy group Lactalis, of two Spanish dairy companies.
Lactalis Iberia has agreed to purchase Spanish dairy products producers Grupo Prado Cervera and Central Lechera Vallisoletana, both of which are controlled by France’s Alliance Agroalimentaire.
Although Lactalis and the acquired businesses have overlapping business, their combined market shares remain modest, the Commission said.
