In a statement released today (16 May), the EU’s executive said that, by mutual agreement, the deadline was extended from 28 August to 25 September.
“We remain positive that the Commission will OK the deal,” a spokesperson for ABF told just-food. The company declined to comment further on the news.
The EU is studying how the acquisition will affect competition in the sector.
GB Ingredients is a Netherlands-based producer of yeast, while ABF sells a variety of foods, including yeast.
