The legislation, which was approved without the help of European Union (EU) ministers and the European Parliament insists that food companies document these good practices, although stops short of stipulating their exact form.
Indeed, it says that systems must be appropriate, taking account of a company’s scale, personnel and equipment, and must “not be an excessive burden on the business.”
