The report points out that honey production is often a decentralised cottage industry in the EU, leaving it weak against larger and better organised from abroad. “The sector is characterised by diverse production methods and uncoordinated support mechanisms from production to marketing.” The report said that the reforms would aim at simplifying support schemes that are available for honey production.
