Makers of prosciutto, parma ham and parmigiano cheese will get a large share of EUR1.78m (US$2.6m) in subsidies over three years.
Italian organic food association l’Associazione dei Produttori Biologici e Biodinamici (Pro.BER) will receive a further EUR1.67m.
Other grants include EUR1.7m for Cypriot dairy products, EUR459,000 for Greek processed fruit and EUR1.2m on Italian new potatoes.
