The fisheries industry of the European Union has asked the European Commission to call off the import duty which has been imposed on Norwegian fish.
According to the Nordic Business Report, Norway has asked for duty free fish exports while negotiations are underway for a new European Economic Area agreement.
Meanwhile, the EU fisheries industry is suffering from a shortage of primary products for processing and has to look outside the EU for more of its supplies.
