UK poultry firm Faccenda Foods has entered into a deal to agreement to acquire Lincolnshire-based duck processor Cherry Valley Farms.

The deal is expected to be signed off by the end of December. Faccenda said the planned acquisition would strengthen its market position as the “only one-stop supplier of chicken, turkey and duck”. The company said the deal would also create further opportunities for growth in all three areas across a broader customer base.

Cherry Valley generates sales of GBP45m. Faccenda described the business as “one of two major duck producers in the UK” and said it has a “strong reputation” in the foodservice sector.

A spokesperson for Faccenda said that, while initially the deal would see the continued supply of Cherry Valley products to the foodservice sector, the “anticipation would be to move across” to supplying the retail sector eventually.
