Finland-based food group Atria is to buy Swedish deli producer Ridderheims Delikatesser.
Atria said it would merge Ridderheims business with one of its own business units, Falbydgens Ost.
The company said the deal would pave the way for increased exports. “The combined business creates the finest and most comprehensive range of fresh delicatessen products in the Nordic countries,” Atria said.
Ridderheims, founded in 1987, generated net sales of EUR50m (US$72.4m) during the 2007/08 financial year.
The Gothenburg-based firm produces a range of deli foods, including sausages, hams, cheeses, preserves and Tapas ingredients.
