The measures revolve around Atria’s meat and ready-meal operations in Finland, moves that will lead to the loss of 170 jobs, the company said today (31 March).

Atria, Finland’s largest meat processor, is looking to switch meat production from its Forssa plant to a site in Nurmo. The company will then look to invest in upgrading ready-meal production at the Forssa facility.

Meanwhile, the fall-out from last year’s acquisition of meat processor Liha-Pouttu will see Atria transfer pig slaughtering to the Nurmo site.

The company is also looking to switch its bovine slaughtering and cutting from a site in Kannus to its Kauhajoki and Kuopio production plants.
