Finnish retailer Kesko has said its profits will suffer as a result of a three-day strike by Finnish warehouse workers.

Around 3,000 workers are on strike, affecting the operations of retailers including Kesko, Stockmann, Suomen Spar and S-group.

“We are of course talking of losses in sales (worth) several millions of euros and, as such, significant sums in profits if the situation continues or becomes more complicated,” Harri Sivula, deputy chief executive of Kesko’s key food unit, was quoted by Reuters as saying.

Sivula said grocery store stocks would not be affected just yet, but Easter food sales could be hit if the strike continues.
