All production at two of Finnish food group Raisio’s plants ground to a halt today (4 June) in a strike over the outsourcing of maintenance staff.

Company spokesperson Heidi Hirvonen told just-food that all production staff at the company’s main plant in the town of Raisio are staging a 24-hour strike that will end late this evening.
Raisio is the site of the main production plants as well as company headquarters.
The Raisio employees walked out in sympathy with five maintenance staff at the oat flake production plant in the town of Nokia.
Raisio has outsourced maintenance work to another company and the five maintenance workers went on strike in protest, shutting down oat flake production.
