Finnish dairy group Valio is launching a drinkable version of its functional yoghurt Valio Gefilus this month.
A Valio spokeswoman told just-food that the new product, Valio Gefilus Max daily dose yoghurt drink, would be lactose-free and fat-free and would be launched in four flavours.
It was not known when the product would be launched internationally, she added. Valio Gefilus yoghurts were first launched in pots in 2004.
The shot-style drinks, using lactobacillus strains patented by Valio, will be sold in 100ml bottles.
Valio is redesigning all packaging of Valiojogurtti yoghurt pots to mark the 40th birthday of Finland’s most popular yoghurt and is changing its recipes to producing a fuller taste and texture. Favourite flavours from the past nominated by consumers will be relaunched, the spokeswoman said.
