
Fleury Michon, the French cooked meats-to-seafood group, has reported an 8% increase in nine-month sales with revenue up across all business segments.
The company booked sales of EUR567.6m (US$627.1m) for the period to the end of September, up 7.9% on the year. Third-quarter sales grew 8.8% to EUR193.1m.
Sales to French supermarkets, which account for over 85% of Fleury Michon’s business, were up 7.6% at EUR493.2m. The group said its performance was “based on continuing market share gains” and the group’s “outperformance” in three core areas – cooked meats, seafood and ready meals.
It noted sales of products sold under the Fleury Michon brand increased 10% in the third quarter.
Fleury Michon’s international business saw sales jump 16.7% to EUR35m during the period. It pointed to a recovery in Canada, where sales were up over 22%, or more than 16% at constant exchange rates.
The group’s third division, which includes sales to foodservice customers, rose 4.2%, with revenue up 7% in the third quarter.
