Flowers Foods, the US bakery group, is launching a range of breakfast-focused products under organic bread brand Dave’s Killer Bread.

The company has developed a line products that it claimed bring the “serious whole grain and protein punch” of Dave’s Killer Bread “to store-bought bagels and cinnamon raisin bread”.

Dan Letchinger, vice president of marketing, said: “As the organic bread category leader, we owe it to our fans to step up and deliver their breakfast favourites – bagels and cinnamon raisin bread – using only great-tasting organic whole grains and clean ingredients.”

The three bagel products contain either 11g or 12g of protein.

The suggested retail price for the three new bagel products is US$5.79. Flowers said the suggested price for the Raisin’ the Roof bread is $4.99.

Flowers acquired Dave’s Killer Bread for $275m in 2015.
