However, the Unite union said the industrial action had been postponed for a vote on the new offer.
The engineers were unhappy at an original offer of a 1% pay rise for the year starting on 1 August 2014, with a further 2% from 1 August this year. Unite said a new offer, based on a one-year deal, has been made. The union did not provide further details and said it would not comment further until the vote has taken place.
Officials at 2 Sisters did not disclose details of the new offer when contacted by just-food.
