Arla Foods’ ingredients business has formed a partnership with French dairy company Euroserum that will see the two groups cooperate in the production of ice cream ingredients.
“We have signed a strategic partnership which we have high hopes for,” executive group director Jais Valeur said. “Euroserum has access to large volumes of whey. With our expertise within whey proteins, we can contribute to processing this whey into a profitable product.”
Initially, the tie-up will focus on ingredients for the ice-cream industry. However, in the longer term the partnership will be extended, Arla said.
Value-added ice cream ingredients were developed by Arla’s Functional Milk Proteins (FMP) business in Denmark. Production will take place at a French factory where Euroserum produces whey ingredients for baby food.
