The plant will produce pre-baked frozen bread, turning out up to 4,500 units an hour for retail outlets, wholesalers and importers in France, Europe and further afield.

The facility is scheduled to enter service in October and is expected to lead to the creation of 70 jobs.

“This new plant is being built in response to lack of capacity at our existing 12 plants in France,” Neuhauser’s commercial director Réné Dhuet told just-food today (28 March).

The 15,000 sq.m plant is being built next to the former Délices de la Tour frozen bread site that Neushauer acquired last year from Dutch bakery products and ingredients firm CSM. That facility has an hourly output of up to 2,000 units.
