France’s leading Vienna pastries group Brioche Pasquier has acquired 100% of the capital of compatriot Picard SA, which produces toasted and crisp bread under the Auga brand.
Auga has three manufacturing plants, at Châteauroux, Saint-Etienne and Vigny, a workforce of 400 staff and an annual turnover of €47.7m (US$59m).
The Auga purchase follows Pasquier’s acquisition of Spanish crisp bread producer, Productos Recondo and more recently French company Sopafi, which employs 180 staff and has three plants in central and western France.
Pasquier’s turnover in the segment now totals €100m.
