French retail giant Carrefour has reportedly been handed its expected fine for false advertising and selling items below cost.

A court outside in Paris has fined Carrefour some EUR2m (US$2.7m) over the matter, just weeks after the company appeared in the dock over the charges.
Carrefour officials refused to comment when contacted by just-food today (27 June).
However, reports in France claim that the company reserves the right to appeal the fine.
