Three food co-operatives in France – Cam 56, Coopagri Bretagne and Eolys – are merging to create a single group spanning beef, pork, poultry, eggs and vegetables.
The merger is scheduled to be finalised in June this year when the name and logo of the new co-operative will be unveiled.

The company will employ 6,000 staff, operating from 300 sites and generating a global annual turnover of EUR2.8bn.
“In pooling areas of competence, pursuing innovative development and rationalising costs, the new co-operative will contribute to strengthening the farming activities of its members, at a time of major upheaval in the sector,” a joint statement read.
