Materne-Mont Blanc’s owners, led by Activa Capital, have reportedly set a closing date of the end of this month for the first round of the bidding process.
When contacted by just-food, an official from Activa declined to comment on reports that claimed a pre-emptive bid from Sweden’s Industri Kapital had already been rejected as it did not constitute a firm offer and was not backed by bank financing.
Materne-Mont Blanc, whose other shareholders are ING Parcom and Aviva, is said to have last year attracted interest from PepsiCo but discussions fell short of a deal, the reports added.
