The Toulouse-based group makes biscuits on behalf of all of France’s leading supermarket retailers, with the exception of Intermarche.

Founded in 1883, Biscuits Poult doubled its size with the acquisition of Panier Tanguy in 2005, becoming France’s second-biggest biscuit producer behind Lu, with annual sales of EUR125m (US$166.8m).

Poult was purchased by LBO France from holding company Invus in 2006. In 2008, it acquired Rougier, a specialist producer of cookies and breakfast biscuits.

Reflecting its ambitions on the European front, Poult is reported to be in talks to buy a Polish company with an annual turnover of EUR50m.
