French gourmet grocer Fauchon Paris is branching out into production under licence with the launch of pâtisserie, ice cream and frozen foods on the French market.
In partnership with frozen patisserie producer, Maison Boncolac, part of the Toulouse-based 3A Co-op group, Fauchon is poised to enter the supermarket and specialist distributor segments with an initial range of eight, own-brand products.
The products – savoury delicacies, desserts and ice cream logs – are expected to be on retailers’ shelves from October.
Since the sale of its ready-made meals business line to French food group Fleury Michon in October 2004, Fauchon has concentrated on building its network of stores, tea rooms and coffee houses and franchised outlets in France and abroad.
It recently opened a café and gift counter in the Dubai Mall commercial complex, in the UAE and is planning to open a store and café this autumn, in Casablanca, in Morocco.
