London, November 22, 2001 (ResearchWire) – The French authorities have a growing battle on their hands. Demand for high quality foods skyrockets each Christmas, as does the amount of sub-standard ‘luxury’ food hitting the shelves. Inspectors began their annual pre-Christmas battle on Wednesday, checking that delicacies meet stringent guidelines. Sales of fine foods in France are continuing to grow by nearly 3% per year, making customer protection in this sector more important and more difficult each year.
