French retailer Guyenne et Gascogne has posted rising annual revenue for 2010 despite seeing sales staying flat for the second quarter running in the last three months of the year.

The Carrefour franchisee posted a 0.6% increase in full-year sales, excluding fuel, to EUR456.5m (US$610.3m). The rise came even after the retailer booked flat sales of EUR118.8m for the fourth quarter. In the third quarter of 2010, Guyenne et Gascogne reported flat sales of EUR129.4m.

“The fourth quarter of 2010 followed on from previous months, confirming both the satisfactory level of food consumption and the difficulties already reported in the non-food sector, particularly consumer electronics,” the retailer said.

In 2010, the retailer’s food sales rose 1.8%, while non-food sales dipped 3.9%. The company also benefited from a 0.6% increase in selling space.

Including the impact of fuel sales, Guyenne et Gascogne’s annual revenue rose faster, increasing by 3.7% to EUR604.2m. Fuel sales over jumped almost 15%.
