French supermarket and hypermarket operator Guyenne et Gascogne has posted a dip in full-year sales, despite a “satisfactory” fourth quarter.

In the 12 months to the end of December, Guyenne et Gascogne saw turnover fall 0.4% to EUR582.4m (US$822.9m).
Excluding fuel, sales at the Carrefour franchisee rose 3.8% to EUR453.7m.
After a weak sales performance in November, the company said sales picked up in December, driving fourth-quarter sales gains of 2.4% to EUR151.3m.
