French retail consortium Les Mousquetaires has booked a 6% rise in annual sales, buoyed by growth in Poland and Belgium.
The group, which is the parent company for a string of independent food, DIY and clothing stores, posted a 6.4% increase in turnover to EUR34.8bn (US$44.58bn) for 2008.
Les Mousquetaires, which oversees the Intermarché and Ecomarché supermarket chains, said food sales rose 6%.
The group is present in seven European countries outside France and said sales in Poland and Belgium and boosted its international growth, which reached 9.5%.
