The family firm, which employs 25 staff and has a production site in central France, made a small loss from a 2006 turnover totalling EUR10.7m.

Delis’ activities will complement those of Lactalis’ own subsidiary, Vergers de Châteaubourg, which makes apple compote products.

Separately, Lactalis has decided to appeal to France’s Supreme Court over its failed bid for Massif Central cheesmaker, Toury.
