French sliced ham and charcuterie group Madrange is no longer for sale, it emerged after the founding Madrangeas family reasserted their control of the business.

Jean Madrangeas, 53, who was at the helm for a period of 17 years until his departure in 2007, has taken up the post of chairman of the supervisory board, a spokesperson for the company told just-food.


The group has also appointed food industry veteran, Franck Rouard, as its new CEO. His main tasks will be the redeployment of the group’s sales activities and its industrial, re-organisation, the company said.


He will replace Bruno Vincent-Genot, who took up the post a year ago.


In February this year, Madrange entered into takeover talks with French food holding company Financière Turenne Lafayette.
