McCormick & Co, the US-based spice maker, has expanded the production of dessert aids at a site in France.
The company has opened a production and packaging unit for products under the Vahiné brand at its facility in Carpentras.
The EUR5m (US$6.9m) investment saw some 69 McCormick employees at a second French site in Monteux switch jobs at the site or move to Carpentras, the company said.
The move will enable McCormick to ramp up production of Vahiné products in a bid to grow sales both inside and outside of France. The company has also been able to bring back to France packaging operations that had been outsourced.
“This new Vahiné production unit will enable us to boost long-term growth momentum for the brand, and we’re extremely proud of what a good job our teams in France have done,” said McCormick president and CEO Alan Wilson.
