French seafood producer Mer Alliance is to invest EUR6m (US$8.9m) over the next three years in its Armoric plant in Quimper, Brittany.
The investment will be used to upgrade equipment at the plant, which mainly manufactures smoked salmon. Work on the upgrade has already begun, a spokesperson told just-food today (19 October).

Mer Alliance posted a turnover of EUR82m last year. The company has two plants in Brittany and has a workforce of around 550. The company was created in 2002 from the merge of Narvik and Armoric.
