The FNSEA today issued a rallying call for its members to join demonstrations throughout France.


Milk producers in France have targeted plants operated by the country’s biggest dairy groups as they protest at price cuts of more than 30% in the second quarter of the year.


The likes of Danone, Sodiaal and Lactalis have seen blockades at their facilities and offices occupied as part of the protests.


Among the protests planned for tomorrow, farmers have lined up a demonstration in Nancy against dairy processor Bongrain, the FNSEA revealed.

The FNSEA said France’s dairy firms had “imposed” a price cut of 30% during April and added that the situation was not “viable” for suppliers.


“The anger of the milk producers is increasing,” the FNSEA said.
