Nestlé Purina has sold one of its seven Friskies plants to French food processing group Le Graet.

The plant in question is located at Guingamp, in Brittany, and makes a range of cat and dog food.
It employs 112 staff and generates an annual turnover of €22.8m (US$24.7m).
The sale price has not been disclosed.
The purchase is Le Graet’s first move into animal food, it activities until now having been focused on ready-made seafood based dishes and tinned pates. The group, which has an annual turnover of close to €80m, also owns a local fishing company, Les Pêcheries de l’Ouest.
