France’s competition regulator has told a clutch of the country’s poultry firms they could face charges over alleged collusion.
Thirteen firms specialising in fresh poultry have been under investigation by France’s competition watchdog, the Autorité de la Concurrence, over possible ant-trust practices dating back several years, just-food understands.

Some of the firms have been contacted by the regulator to answer questions relating to suspicions of price collusion, a source close to the investigation said.
On Friday, poultry firm Duc, said that it had been notified by the regulator over a possible collusion charge, part of an investigation started in 2007.
“We cannot add to this statement as the case is subject to a confidentiality clause,” a spokesperson for Duc said.
LDC also said it had been contacted by the regulator.
A source said Doux, which is no longer active in fresh poultry, had been notified over its unit, Doux Frais, which has since been liquidated as part of the restructuring of the group.
