Functional food ingredients groups Naturex and Natraceutical have agreed on a merger, the companies announced today (6 August).

The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding for the integration of Natraceutical’s ingredients business within Naturex. The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The enlarged group will become a “world leader” in speciality, natural ingredients, the companies said.
Naturex is “firmly established” in the US, while Spain-based group Natraceutical is “rooted” in Europe, the companies added.
Natraceutical will become a “significant minority shareholder” in Naturex, alongside SGD, the family holding company that owns the business.
