Members of Terrena, the French agri-food co-operative, have given the green light to vegetable supplier Val Nantais joining the group.
Val Nantais sells 20,000 tonnes of vegetables a year. The company has a deal to supply French canned food manufacturer Bonduelle. It exports 25% of its vegetables across northern Europe.

Terrena has not been present in the vegetable market and, although the co-op acknowledged the sector is stagnant, it sees opportunities for growth.
“With Val Nantais, Terrena will … offer its customers a range of innovative products in a rapidly changing market,” a spokesperson for Terrena said.
Separately, Terrena also this week announced plans to invest EUR100m (US$136.1m) over ten years in arable farming.
