The enlarged group will be called Aveltis and has been formed in collaboration with the pork branch of another co-operative, Terrena.

Alvetis will be France’s second-biggest player in pork processing, behind Cooperl Arc Atlantic, with a turnover of almost EUR400m (US$546.6m).
The head of Pigalys, Fortuné Le Calvé, has been named president of Alvetis.
The merger is already operational and will be fully completed in September.
