The purchase takes the number of Florette’s production sites in Europe to ten.

Set up in 2000, Salads To Go operates from a 50,000 sq ft, state-of-the-art, processing plant in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, equipped with eight production lines. It has an annual turnover of around GBP33.3m (US$50.8m).

The company’s directors, Julie Bolton and Stephen Rogers, are to continue at the helm.

“Florette already has a UK subsidiary, Soleco Ltd., based in Lichfield, Staffordshire and the acquisition of Salads To Go strengthens its position in the UK which is a very strong growth market,” a spokesperson for Florette told just-food today.
