A 31-year-old man became the fourth victim of vCJD in France when he died last week, according to an association representing vCJD sufferers.

An association spokesman told the Associated Press that the man first showed symptoms of vCJD, the human form of mad cow disease, in July 2001.

The man’s death will no doubt increase concerns across Continental Europe of a vCJD epidemic.
