French food processing group Turenne Lafayette, which makes ready-made dishes brands under the William Saurin, Garbit and Petitjean brands as well as producing supermarkets’ own brands, is investing EUR15m (US$17.7m) in the construction of a logistics hub at Chateau Thierry, located around 100 kms north-east of Paris.


By the end of 2006, the 36,000 sq.m facility will employ between 60 and 80 staff and handle 140,000 tonnes of product annually most of it supplied from the William Saurin plant at Pouilly-sur-Serre.


Turenne Lafayette, which has an annual turnover of EUR540m, has a network of 18 production plants and employs a total of 2,500 staff.
