Valentin Traiteur, the French manufacturer, has sold a minority stake in the business to local private-equity firm Siparex.

The Mably, Loire-based company, which supplies products such as croque-monsieur, quiche, pizza and croissants to retailers including Monoprix, Casino, Aldi and Carrefour, said the deal will help it fulfil its “ambitious growth strategy” by investing in production lines, in the development of new products and in targeted acquisitions.

Emmanuel Brochet, who has headed Valentin Traiteur since 1993 – during which time it has grown from 22 to 300 employees – said: “Through Siparex we found ambitious men sharing our values to bring us the growth accelerator we need to continue our development.”

Florent Lauzet, member of the executive committee and associate director of Siparex, said: “We are happy to be able to accompany Emmanuel Brochot in his ambitions, with our Siparex E TI 4 fund to support industry leaders, in a market rich in potential in the next years.”
