Garden Protein, Pinnacle Foods' US-based meat-free business, has launched a range of on-the-go products in Canada.

The business, which sells products under the Gardein brand, has rolled out three handheld pocket meas: Crispy Chick'n Pocket Meal; Italian Meat-Free Sausage Pocket Meal; BBQ Pulled Porkless Shreds Pocket Meal

"Today's consumer wants a healthier protein meal they can eat on-the-go," said Yves Potvin, founder of the Gardein brand. "We hand crafted these products to meet their needs in a delicious and sustainable way."

Garden Protein was acquired by Pinnacle towards the end of last year for C$175m (US$154.6m) from investment firm TSG Consumer Partners and Potvin.

Yesterday, Pinnacle reported Gardein's sales had risen in the fourth quarter of the year.
