General Mills has confirmed it will shut a plant in New Albany, Indiana, a move that will affect 400 employees.
In January, the Cheerios owner announced a preliminary decision to close the plant, subject to negotiation with union officials.

“Those negotiations are now complete, and the company said it will begin the review of necessary processes and steps to transition and consolidate manufacturing at other facilities within the General Mills supply chain,” General Mills said.
The plant, scheduled to close in the middle of 2016, manufactures refrigerated baked goods. General Mills said it will provide severance and transition benefits to all affected employees.
