General Mills has launched a range of yoghurts containing seeds under the Liberté brand in the UK.

The US group said it was the first time pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and linseeds had been used together in yoghurts sold in the market.

"Consumers are actively seeking out convenient breakfast solutions that are nutritious without compromising on taste. This new format and thinking has the potential to drive incremental growth by bringing new and younger consumers into the brand and Greek category," Richard Williams, marketing director at General Mills' Yoplait unit, which runs the Liberté brand in the UK, said.

The seeds products are part of a wider line-up for the Liberté brand that also includes three yoghurts containing muesli.

The Liberté Muesli and Seeds range will be available from 13 April, with an MRRP of GBP1 for a 140g pot. Two seeds lines – Seeds & Mixed Berries and Seeds & Mixed Fruit – and two muesli yoghurts – Muesli & Summer Fruit, Muesli & Apricot – have been developed.
