With five production lines, the plant is expected to turn out 50m packaged salads in 2014, staffed by 200 workers.
“Bonduelle will now be able to call upon state-of-the-art production facilities which will allow it to strengthen its position as market leader in Germany for both [branded] and supermarkets’ private-label products,” the group added.
Bonduell generates annual sales of EUR210m in Germany, of which EUR70m is accounted for by ready-to-eat salads.
