German retail giant Rewe said it increased is sales in fiscal 2011, with all five business segments contributing to growth.
Group sales increased 3.5% to EUR40.3bn (US$53.51bn) in the 12-month period, Rewe reported today (28 March).
In Germany, turnover grew 3.1% to EUR27.5bn, while international sales increased 4.4% to EUR12.8bn.
“Even under challenging conditions, we continue to grow and profit.” said Rewe Group’s CEO Alain Caparros. “We rely on consistent customer focus, compelling products and services as well as the consolidation and modernisation of our distribution networks and targeted acquisitions.”
Rewe will report its full 2011 earnings on 22 May.
